Kentucky isn't only known for bourbon. The American commercial wine industry was also born here over 200 years ago. Plan your visit to tour, shop or take in a concert at some of the most scenic vineyards in the region.

Equus Run Vineyards

Midway, KY

The visionary in this story is owner Cynthia Bohn, who as a 30-year veteran of IBM, had the opportunity to travel the world and sample many wonderful cuisines and wines.

As the story goes, Cynthia was examining the business case studies of wine giants Mondavi and Gallo as part of continuing business education curriculum at Harvard University. As she researched her mind gave way to thoughts of her own vineyard and winery in Kentucky which opened in 1998.
